Thailand Travel - Adventure Tours

Thailand Explorer - AST1 9 Days €495.00
This trip to Thailand - the land of tuk-tuks, elephants and Buddhas - is essentially about trekking to meet it's tribal people and sample their cultures while exploring its famous rugged hillsides with their spectacular views. Firstly, there's a few days of traditional tourism in the bustling capital Bangkok, such as exploring the Grand Palace, plus the river market canals and a visit to the famous Bridge over The River Kwai with it's relics of the second world war. Then it's an overnight sleeper train to Chiang Mai, Thailand's jewel of the north, for our trekking. Over three days we will travel on foot and elephant back - as well as rafting on a bamboo raft on the Maetang River- as we visit the villages of White Karen and Muser to meet their tribes. Cultural highlights of Chiang Mai will be the holy Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep Temple, 3,520 feet above sea level, and visited by Buddhist pilgrims all year round, and night shopping in a bazaar. Finally we return to Bangkok on the overnight sleeper train.

Thailand Discoverer - AST2  16 Days €865.00
This trip has it all. It combines exciting contrasts covering the length of Thailand, from trekking in the hills and the cultural heritage of the rugged north, to trips through rainforests and snorkelling in the tropical south. This comprehensive tour begins in the capital Bangkok.Watch out for the famous reclining Buddha and the Bridge over The River Kwai, an immense engineering feat, at great human cost of the Second World War. Next, we're off by overnight sleeper train to Chiang Mai, where over three days we trek by foot and on elephant back, staying overnight in traditional Thai minority family homes. Walk through the jungle to visit small villages, meet hill tribes for a taste of their culture, and try rafting on bamboo rafts. An overnight sleeper train takes us south to our bungalows in the Khao Sok National Park. Here we trek on foot and on elephant through this tropical rain forest as well as taking a river canoe ride. Then by road to Krabi and the sparkling waters and white sandy beaches of Rai Leh. Cruising on the emerald waters, diving, snorkelling and rock climbing are some of the options on offer here.

The Peninsular Route - AST3  14 Days €945.00
Without doubt this wonderful tour enables you to take in a large part of South East Asia at a comfortable pace. Three countries in just over two weeks gives you the time to sample the spectacular cultures and the vivid contrasts between trekking and snorkelling one moment, and the nightlife of the big cities the next. In Thailand we switch from the bustle of Bangkok to explore the rainforest and exotic beaches of the south. Crossing into Malaysia we drive to the scenic island state of Penang, the oldest British settlement but with its original Chinese atmosphere. Here we explore by rickshaws, travel on a funicular train, shop in the night bazaars, trek to a waterfall, swim and canoe. On to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital, which has a curious blend of the old and the new. Its impressive colonial architecture still stands proudly among the gleaming high-rise office blocks and the worlds tallest building - The Petronas Towers. Finally, a night train brings us to the island of Singapore at the top of the Malay Peninsular. A walk through Chinatown, Little India and Arab Street is the best way to explore its delights.

Another trip of splendid contrasts. From Thailand's northern cultural heritage and the jungle park and beaches of the south to the excitement and hustle of the great centres of Bangkok, Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Then we head south to the Khao Sok National Park to explore its tropical rainforest, followed by the sparkling waters and white sandy beaches of Rai Leh, and snorkelling, diving and cruising offshore. We start early for the long journey to Malaysia and drive to the scenic island state of Penang with its original Chinese atmosphere. Hill Tribes and River Rides - AST5  14 Days €1,105.00
This Grand Indo-China loop trip offers a wonderful chance to explore two of South East Asia's great cultural centres, the North Thailand hills and Laos' Mekong Delta. There can be no better way to witness the stunning scenery and experience the friendliness of the people. After an opening tour of Bangkok, we journey to Chiang Mai in the north. Here we trek by foot and on elephant back - plus rafting on a bamboo raft - to the hillside villages. A highlight of Chiang Mai will be the holy Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep temple visited by Buddhist pilgrims all year round. Next, it's on to Laos - a country standing in great contrast to Thailand and one hardly touched by tourism. Its landscape is both stunning and raw and its people welcome visitors with open arms. The highlight of this leg of the tour is a truly memorable boat trip on the Mekong River with the chance to see in all its splendour the spectacular and ever-changing scenery and the rural waterside life. Following on from there are visits to the cultural centres of Luang Prabang, with its monks in their colourful robes going about their religious rituals, and the capital Vientiane.
