Anemone
Reef [ Andaman Sea ]
Anemone Reef is a collection of rocky plateau. As you
might guess, the top part of the reef is smothered in sea anemones; there
are many resident clownfish, shrimps and Porcelain Crabs. Elsewhere on the
reef you will find large clusters of soft corals and enormous gorgonian
seafans. At its deepest point a solitary rock is home to a group of juvenile
moray eels. For experienced divers only.
Hin
Daeng / Hin Muang [ Andaman Sea ]
One of the best dive spots in Thailand (truly a
world-class dive site). The 2 rocks with vertical walls dropping straight
down to 50-60m are completely covered with hard and soft coral, sea fans,
sea anemones and attract large school of jacks as well as fusiliers, tuna
and barracuda. Hin Daeng is also perhaps the only place in Thailand where
Grey reef sharks can be seen in schools of up to 15 sharks. The richness and
variety of pelagic fish compares to that found at Richelieu Rock,
particularly for the sight of whale shark.
King
Cruiser Wreck [ Andaman Sea ]
The 70 meters steel hulled passenger ferry had been sunk
on May 1997 by hurting Anemone Reef. That huge catamaran rests within the
zone of Shark Point Marine Sanctuary in about 30 meters of water on a sandy
bottom. Divers can swim through most of the wreck. For experienced divers
only.
Koh
Bon [ Andaman Sea ]
A tall, rocky island, offer varied and beautiful
underwater scenery. At Koh Bon, a steep, rocky point, which plunges to over
40 meters' depth, is often a good place to see Leopard Sharks and large
rays. Here is also a good place to see big pelagic creatures; both Mantas
and Whale Sharks are seen here with fair regularity.
Koh
Doc Mai [ Andaman Sea ]
The East Side of the island offers a wall rich in
invertebrates and a good representation of tube corals. There are large
moray eels, Black-banded Sea Snakes, Honeycomb Groupers and angelfish, and
you have a good chance of seeing Leopard Sharks out on the sand. The western
side of the island features a steeply sloping reef. Both Blacktip and
Whitetip Reef Sharks have been seen here as well as visiting pelagic are
often on view. For divers of all levels.
Koh
Tachai [ Andaman Sea ]
A pair of coral-encrusted pinnacles, which are connected
by a long, rocky ridge. Currents, which are extremely rich in nutrients,
sweep this site and plankton, resulting in outstanding growths of sea fans,
whip corals and other filter feeders. This is also a good area for Leopard
Sharks and Stingrays, but probably the most over-whelming attraction is the
schooling fish action.
Koh
Tao [ Gulf Of Thailand ]
Located approximately 65 km. North of Samui Island in
the Gulf of Thailand. The diving is varied enough to suit all levels of
divers. Firstly, there are the deep sites around towering submerged
pinnacles, with their craggy rock faces seemingly alive with various hard
and soft coral species. These sites are constantly visited by large pelagics.
Secondly, there are dives along gentle sloping coral reefs. These are good
places to see a rich diversity of marine life.

Losin [
Gulf Of Thailand ]
A remote reef located approximately 100 km east of
Narathiwat (province of the south of Thailand) in the warm, clear, furtile
area where the Gulf of Thailand meets the deeper blue waters of the South
China Sea. Losin is a tiny island with an old light house giving warning
signal to passing boat as there is no other island in the radius of 100
square kilometres. Big fishes are abundant because of the distance from the
shore and understroyed reef. A pristine example of a healthy reef, the
marine life here is amazing, with black tip reef shark and bow mouthed
guitar fish patrolling the deeper waters down to 40 metres and wher giant
mantarays and even whale sharks mingle with the visiting divers among the
huge table corals.
Phi
Phi Islands [ Andaman Sea ]
Phi-Phi Islands offers numerous walls, caverns and
caves, as well as shallow coral gardens and sloping reefs. Typical sights
include both hard and soft coral, nudibranchs, shellfish and many other
invertebrates. Fish life is abundant and range from coral reef fish to
leopard shark or whale sharks. For divers of all
Racha
Noi Island [ Andaman Sea ]
Dives consist of rocky slopes, coral gardens and huge
rock pinnacles. Marine life here includes both hard and soft corals,
crinoids of many colors, and a wide variety of reef fish with occasionally
pelagic fish. Many divers compare the dive spot with those in the Similan/Surin
Islands. For experienced divers only.
Racha
Yai Island [ Andaman Sea ]
Dives on the East Side are with easy conditions, clear
water and a good variety of marine life. Dives on the West side consist
mostly of granite rocks, sparse coral growth, invertebrates and a good
variety of reef fish. Racha Yai Island is the perfect place for a diver to
do a check dive. For divers of all levels.
Richelieu
Rock [ Andaman Sea ]
The world's top listed location for sighting Whale
Sharks and Mantas. One of Thailand's best dives, this is a wall-dive around
the main outcrop, which is surrounded by smaller submerged pinnacles. Around
the corals is a wide diversity of marine life: common residents include
Schooling Banner fish, Single-spot and Giant Snappers, Scorpion fish, Moray
eel, and colorful nudibranch. As this is the only food source in the
immediate area, it is excellent for large pelagic. Rainbow runner, Great
barracuda, Trevally, Tuna and jack are frequently observed.
Shark
Point (Hin Musang) [ Andaman Sea ]
Shark Point is classified as a Marine Sanctuary. This
reef is home to an incredible profusion of sea creatures with soft and hard
corals, tropical and pelagic fish and Leopard-Sharks for great pictures. The
density and diversity of marine life here is favorably compared to the best
coral reefs anywhere in the world. For experienced divers only.
Similan
Islands Marine National Park [ Andaman Sea ]
The Similans can certainly lay claim to being one of
Asia's top dive destinations with over 20-30 different dive sites.
East-facing dive sites feature gently sloping reefs and drop-offs with
impressive gardens of sea anemones, flourishing hard and soft corals, and
teeming fish populations. Western dive sites are quite the opposite. Here,
giant granite boulders tumble down to the seabed to depths of 40m or more.
Strong currents keep the gaps between the boulders free from build-ups of
sand, leading to the development of a network of tunnels, archways and
caverns that provide exciting swimthroughs. The currents also provide
nutrients for masses of gorgonians, crinoids, sea fan and lush soft corals.
Pelagic fish such as whale shark, reef shark, manta, eagle rays, barracuda,
travelly, tuna and jacks are frequently observed.
Surin
Islands [ Andaman Sea ]
Have the best-developed coral reefs in Thai water, and
some extraordinary underwater excursions are readily accessible to
snorkellers as well as to scuba divers. The outstanding feature of the site
is natural arch of boulders and school of zebra fish (a species of lion
fish) hangs out here. Off the western side of the island, at about 12 metres,
a variety of hard corals carpet the seafloor. Turtles are commonly sighted
here, as well as Blue-ringed angelfish.
